Suddenly, you discover that there are boundaries that you like to cross over. And then you will want more out of your bikes. Bikers will need more than just durability and efficient pedalling. They will resort to essential mountain bike upgrades. They will find the key parts to be important and still functional, but riders will start to yearn for more complexity.

The time will come when riders become less contented with their bikes, and growls boredom on their familiarity. These bike enthusiasts will want to discover more things to be done with and on their bikes.

Essential mountain bike upgrades will then mean more than just buying more stylish or more expensive mountain bike accessories like helmets, shoes, gloves, trail kits or shorts. Essential mountain bike upgrades mean bigger than what you presently possess.

Here are some of the things that you, as a biking enthusiast, dwell on when you think of doing the essential mountain bike upgrades:

Tires for Rougher terrains

You might find the need to shift to wider tires which will permit better footing. Wider tires will mean less PSI of air and will assure the riders of better grip on the trail. Therefore, a safer ride is promised. When trailing woodlands and rocky roads, the 26 inch diameter tires are most recommended for better managing of the humps and depressions.

Tires for Smoother rides

If the rider isnt really into trailing the rough roads, 28 inch diameter tires will do. These types of tires can handle dirt-paved roads and gentle trails like campgrounds and the park. Mountain bikes that usually use this tire size are those that have larger seats with thicker padding and springs for more comfortable touring.

Know where you are going and how to get back

A good cyclometer should be a part of your essential mountain bike upgrade. For sure every biker would like to enjoy his travel to and from the mountains. They will need this tool to guide them to the correct reference points and distances.

Upgraded bike, upgraded tools

When you see trouble in the midst of the long trail, a good set of tools will help you get rid of anxiety. Before you go on a long bike ride, make sure you have upgraded set of tools from the first trail aid kit that you initially had before you upgraded your two-wheel friend.

Rougher roads, better pedals

As an essential mountain bike upgrade, you may opt to either equip your bikes pedals with clips or shift to clip less pedals. And then you might need to change your pair of mountain bike shoes that will work best with the new pedals.

Tougher terrains, more reliable suspensions

A mountain bike with dual suspension is most recommended for mountain bikes which are set to go for the tougher grounds. Hardtails are expected to be efficient in speed mountain bike biking, but dual suspension will work best at managing the rude humps and slopes.

The time has probably come for you to get out of what is conventional. Your still useful two-wheel machine might need for some essential mountain bike upgrades. And your pocket should be with the funds to spend those additional wise investments on.
