oHard Tail Hard tail bikes does not have a rear suspension and cyclists would need to install suspension to have a comfortable ride. These types of bike are lightweight and have a better seat-stay and chain-stay. They require lesser maintenance and are more functional then full suspension bikes.

Some people would say that this type of mountain bike look just like a giant BMX bicycle with a front suspension. Because of its extreme uses, dirt jump mountain bikes are made out of durable materials to protect the cyclist during jumps. It is also has softer suspension systems than what Cross Country mountain bikes have.
